Pinellas County, Florida, Sept. 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In an effort to help people nation-wide, one Florida car buyer has released an in depth article that outlines the steps individuals can perform to maximize return when selling their used cars. From determining a target market demographic and using simple, three-dollar Facebook ads to whether or not 'scratch and dent' repairs are worth the cost, this article and the featured resources cover everything. There may be many reasons why drivers may want to sell and whatever the reason, these steps will help sellers achieve the highest offer for their vehicles. The first thing to remember, "time is your enemy", most cars lose value by the days and miles. The older the car, or higher the miles, the lower the value. So, the faster used vehicles are sold, the higher the offer acquirable

Here's a sneak peak of the cheatsheet:
Selling cars for better offers, by following these 8 Pro Tips;
1. Spiffy Sells, Improve the Condition of the Car
We all know that new car smell. We know that feeling as we slide across those new seats, then grab a squeaky clean new steering wheel, turn the shiny new key to the on position, and suddenly she purrs beautifully.
That's the first impression a car "MUST' make. Remember, "...one person's used car is the next guy's new car", so make sure the buyer sees and feels the magic. This is the kind of experience that will make your sale, and it works like a charm.

2. Know the Value of your Car
The right price at the right time is the key to a quick sale. So before you slap on that price tag, you need to start with a market-savvy price. To make that easy, we suggest you start with the Kelley Blue Book website. Be sure to make a note of the different price points.
Private Party: You are selling the car direct to the final user
Trade-In: A wholesaler is purchasing the car and will be reselling it to the final owner.
Both have their respective pros and cons. Instead of listing each one, here's the boiler-plate: If you have the time and want to get the highest possible return for your car, private party is the way to go. If you are in a hurry or simply want to avoid the hassle that selling a car on this market can bring with 'no-show' buyers, hagglers and the unlikely, yet possible security risk you may want to go straight to a wholesaler like OfferMORE.
Private party sales these days, with the onslaught of texting and messaging can become a part-time job as haggles are quick to show off their automotive mastermind knowledge to better the price in their favor.
Whichever method you choose, keep in mind that the price you have attained is only a recommendation. If you believe with reason that your car is worth more, accept no less.
Now, let's get that car ready for bringing home that top dollar!

3. Accessories Add Value
Use professional car sales tricks to increase car value, like adding accessories with a higher value than price. For example, adding a car alarm allows you to pitch lower insurance rates, and when your best potential buyers are college students, adding a stereo, and some good speakers can clinch the deal. Does your old car have Bluetooth? If not, you can purchase a Bluetooth adapter for as little as $15 on Amazon.com.
As of late 2018, among the top three features consumers look for when buying a vehicle is BlueTooth compatibility alongside safety & interior size. (Source A)
Missing a hubcap? Add a new set for just $20 a Walmart but don't get spinners! Also, do not get fuzzy steering wheel covers or anything that may not bode well with all buyers. How about USB chargers? If your car doesn't have any, order a nice dual USB port for your cigarette lighter.

4. The Better the Pictures, the Higher the Price
Most of us have burst into laughter at the advertisement of an expensive car featuring the photo of an old jalopy. Remember, you never want shoppers to mistake your advertisement for a "CAR MEME".
Your car photos should always make the price, look like the cheapest thing in the picture.
Start with a good camera, 5mp or better, we like 12mp plus. Choose a rich background (i.e.; a golf course, beach, or an expensive home). Choose bright, clear, daytime hours. Because the sunlight provides optimum visibility. Lastly, be certain to remove any obstructions and be sure to take close-ups, wide-angle, and distance shots of everything, hide nothing. 12 photos are great, 30 photos will be better. When shooting the interior, be sure to keep an eye on the shadows. You may need to move your car or use a light for a good shot.
**Only take your vehicle photos once the vehicle is completely detailed.

5. Target Your Buyers
You seldom sell your car to some random buyer. Actually, the type of car your selling appeals to certain types of buyers, some just like you. Age and lifestyle are the first things to influence a car buying decision. College students want fast and flashy cars with extra features, a family man wants a spacious car with exceptional fuel efficiency.
If you're not quite sure who your target market is simply do a google search for "your car model + buyer demographic". We tested this out method with multiple combinations ie; "Toyota Camry buyer demographic" and found that prior to the 2012 redesign the average buyer was 55 years old and the difference between male and female was negligible. After the redesign that age dropped ten years lower.
However, keep in mind that most statistics you found will likely be based on newer models. Hence, if you car is 10 years old and has hundreds of thousands of miles you can assume the age demographic to be significantly lower as younger adults have smaller budgets and visa-versa.

6. Use Social to SELL
After thinking about your target buyer, you can choose the right advertising medium. For example, lower value sports cars, hybrids, SUVs and other models may see better exposure on platforms like Facebook and Instagram where younger adults are more likely to be searching. Conversely, if you're selling higher value vehicles your buyer is likely doing much more pre-purchase research on websites like Autotrader, Cars.com, Kelly Blue Book (yes you can use KBB.com to list your car) and eBay.

Did you know you can make a Facebook page for your used car? Doing so will allow you to boost a post (thus becoming an ad) while targeting your demographic based on age, gender and location to reach your ideal buyer for as little as three dollars a day. This method can yield strong results for both high and low value vehicles sales. Learn how here

7. When to Post Online Ads?
The day and time of day that you post your online ad can make a huge difference with engagement, and you should remember to repost or bump your posts. Today, many people go online while they wait for morning coffee. They will spend 5-10 min. drinking coffee while going through social accounts before they hit the shower. Your next window is the after-dinner, during the relax and catch up on messages timeframe, before they start the evening movie. Hit either of these time windows, and you increase your engagement exponentially.

When ready for a full checklist, see "How To Sell Your Car: Most Money Possible", by  OfferMORE's Pro Advisor... Featuring "34 Pro Tips" to get the highest possible offer when selling a used vehicle.

For Extra Credit
"Have your service record ready before showing your car"
(Pro Tip: producing records before being asked, inspires buyer confidence).
Last, Don't be afraid to just say "No"
From the self-proclaimed car expert to those narrating their recent misfortunes ("I just got out of a nasty divorce settlement... yadda, yadda"). Selling a used car can be a bit challenging, but regardless of the reasons, anyone might give to criticize your car or your price. You're the BOSS, don't be afraid to just say "No".
Bonus tip: Learn buyer tactics such as "Show them cash!", then you know to expect it and are better prepared to look down the barrel of cold hard cash and not squirm at the thought of what you could do with it. Instead, you're thinking 'ahh, I know that tactic and it's not going to work on me'.

When it comes to scratch and dent repair Vs. return and the most important factors to know when detailing your car, along with frequently asked questions like "can I sell my car if I still owe?", we've got a full, in-depth guide available for free on the weoffermore.com website.

Okay, You're Ready to Roll
