Second Harvest has distributed more than 30 million pounds of food to more than 200,000 households in Louisiana, but there are still people in our area who don’t have enough to eat
Houma, LA (PRWEB) April 18, 2017
The Stephanie Hebert Insurance Agency, an asset protection and financial planning firm providing services to families and business owners across southern Louisiana, is joining the United Way Second Harvest Food Bank in a cooperative charity event with the goal of feeding hungry families in the region.
At present, 1 in 5 families in Louisiana face food insecurity issues. The United Way Second Harvest Food Bank offers several programs to help alleviate hunger in communities across Louisiana. These efforts include public benefit enrollment support, free food boxes for hungry families, and nutrition education classes aimed at assisting families in making positive food choices.
“Second Harvest has distributed more than 30 million pounds of food to more than 200,000 households in Louisiana, but there are still people in our area who don’t have enough to eat,” says Stephanie Hebert, founder and principal agency of the Stephanie Hebert Insurance Agency.
To help gather support for the United Way Second Harvest Food Bank charity drive, Hebert and her team are assisting in community organizing efforts in and around Terrebonne Parish by promoting the event over social media and email. Further promotional efforts will include a feature article on the event scheduled for publication in the Stephanie Hebert Insurance Agency online magazine “Our Hometown”: http://www.stephaniehebert.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_43.
Over the last several years, Hebert and her team have worked in support of over a dozen charitable organizations and nonprofit groups working to improve outcomes for families in the region. As members of the national “Agents of Change” charity involvement initiative, the Hebert team plans to help support a new Louisiana charity every 90 days.
