Chef Mick Brown Launches "Pizza & Punchlines" Nov. 12; Pre-Orders Include Free Show Tickets

Chef Mick Brown is now collaborating with legendary comedian and culture icon Bobby Smith IV (aka B. Smitty), owner of the historic Upstage Comedy Lounge. On Thursday, November 12, 2026, the duo will officially launch "Pizza & Punchlines" — an exclusive evening blending authentic Chicago-style pizza, stand-up comedy, and live improv. Having recently completed an intensive stand-up workshop, this event marks the public's very first opportunity to experience Chef Brown's pizza and comedy on the same stage.
Hosted by Hill Kane, the high-energy evening features the Toxic Pickle Improv team alongside stand-up sets from popular regional comics Brendan Picard, Dani W/An Aye, Clifton Simmons, and more.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the showcase kicking off at 7:30 p.m. at Upstage Comedy Lounge, located at 4441 Walzem Rd, San Antonio, TX 78218.
Throughout the night, Brown will serve up the exact two styles of pizza that Chicagoans actually eat: authentic deep dish and tavern-style thin crust. Each pizza features a proprietary blend of fine cheeses, robust Manzanita tomato pizza sauce, fresh herbs, and his signature buttery cornmeal crust.

Because a 12" Thin Crust pizza order costs less than a single regular admission ticket, pre-ordering is the most affordable way to experience the event.

For those staying to enjoy the entertainment, doors open for dine-in seating at 6:30 p.m. and pickups continue through 8:30 p.m. A limited slice menu will be available after 6:30 p.m. and during the show for walk-ins who do not pre-order, subject to standard door entry pricing ($20 individual / $35 pair).
