Fooda Adds Former Dunkin' Brands CEO Nigel Travis to Board
Travis joins the leading food at work platform as the company expands from 20 current markets to national coverage, enabled by the recent roll out of its proprietary mobile point of sale.
CHICAGO, Feb. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Fooda announces that Nigel Travis has joined the company's board of directors as chairman. Travis is the current chairman of Dunkin' Brands and was also that company's CEO from 2009 to 2018.
Fooda specializes in bringing daily restaurant Popups to office building lobbies, company lunchrooms, and corporate cafeterias. The company is backed by Valor Equity Partners and Lightbank.
"Fooda captured my attention because of their unique way of leveraging technology and onsite Popups to bring fresh affordable food to people at work," states Nigel Travis. "Fooda's financial performance over the past several years is a testament to how well that model works. I am thrilled to be joining the board right now."
The growth stage company services thousands of workplaces within 20 US markets. Each Fooda transaction is handled through a proprietary mobile point of sale system built by the company. That technology, along with a consumer rewards program, was rolled out in 2018.
"I can't think of a more qualified person to lead our board. Mr. Travis is an innovator who has grown mass market restaurant-based businesses by focusing heavily on technology. Under his leadership, Dunkin' became publicly listed and his team built one of the most successful mobile ordering apps in the QSR market," comments Fooda CEO Orazio Buzza. "Additionally, Travis's success leading tens of thousands of non-corporately owned locations is relevant to Fooda's model, which is built on strong partnerships and cooperation with all of the independent restaurants that make up Fooda's platform."
