2019 started off strong for Wickfire as the team attended the highly anticipated Affiliate Summit West conference in Las Vegas. At the conference, Wickfire CTO Jon Brown was a top presenter on product feeds in digital marketing.
For the last 16 years, Affiliate Summit West has been considered the most productive and effective conference for affiliate marketing thanks to its prolific speaker series featuring marketing strategists from around the world. Each year, a total of 12,000 digital marketers attend Affiliate Summit conferences, and more than 200 speakers discuss important, cutting-edge topics in affiliate marketing.
This year, Wickfire’s Jonathan Brown presented on how to incorporate product feeds into affiliate marketing strategies. His presentation, titled “Helping Influencers Promote Your Products with Optimized Feeds,” zeroed in on how product feeds can be a useful and effective way of engaging with influencers to reach users looking for targeted product recommendations. As an example, he highlighted how a product placement in an Instagram post can lead the consumer straight to the digital shopping cart, bringing visual storytelling into the marketplace.
By combining informative descriptions of the mechanics of product feeds and interesting examples of current influencer advertising, Brown’s session described new ways that e-commerce companies can drive engagement with influencers, increase digital sales, and provide better content for users.
“A lot of people, me included, are really excited about what influencers are doing in the product recommendation space,” Brown commented. “It’s important to provide those influencers with the tools they need. Content affiliates can do amazing things with the right tools.”
This wasn’t Brown’s only speaking appearance at the conference. Brown also participated in a roundtable discussion presented by the Performance Marketing Association, titled “From GDPR to ITP: Developments in Tracking and Privacy.” As Wickfire’s Chief Technology Officer and a leader in the field of technology solutions in digital marketplaces, Brown introduced the topic of parallel tracking and participated actively in all topics during the discussion.
