STATEN ISLAND, N.Y., April 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- As spring hits its summit, the Staten Island Museum hosts a celebration of To Staten Island with Love, the newly published book by photographer Elite Ziegelman. This book signing and discussion occurs Wednesday May 8, 7:00PM, coinciding with a signature cocktail campaign across the borough's hottest restaurants. There will be a VIP Champagne Toast for press and partners preceding the public event.
To honor what's been deemed "the forgotten borough" as well as Ziegelman's book, local celebrated eateries created a series of specialty drinks named for the area's heritage. This collective toast, conceived specifically for this occasion, includes novel cocktails such as "the Hylan Hitter" and "Old Town Fashioned". Partner restaurants comprise Lorenzo's, Michael's Martinis and Meatballs, Cole's Dockside, Max's Escas and Marina Café as well as top restauranteur/chef Peter Botros of Violette's Cellar, the Stone House and Sofia's Taqueria
"I've lived on Staten Island most of my life and have had the chance to study its allure", the photographer explained. Her contemplative vision, however, seeks out not only the appeal of a subject, but its full breadth, cast in a singularly prodigious image.
A rising star within Instagram's competitive photo network, Ziegelman's work has been featured on NBC television and the Staten Island Advance's online edition, SI Live. To Staten Island with Love includes photos at once dexterous and thought-provoking, from the greenest preserves to Richmond's most populated streets, its defining structures, water-front, centuries-old houses, urban centers and rolling hills.
