Formaspace Contract, an office furniture manufacturer based in Austin, Texas, has released a catalog of products in direct response to following CDC guidelines for health & safety, and the need to create the separation necessary to return to the workplace. As Americans return to the office, those offices need to be ready, and fast. While everyone is eager to get back to work, anxiety is running high at the thought of being in close quarters again. In an effort to put those fears to rest, Formaspace Contract created three entirely new products based on client driven requests and combined them with seven other curated standard products to round out the catalog offering of ten total products aimed directly at workplace preparedness.
In response to the current situation, and the demand for products that provide protective features such as health shields and sneeze guards, Formaspace Contract EVP of Sales & Marketing, Frank Bucher, said, “The demand for Covid -19 related products is overwhelming. Unlike many other manufacturers, Formaspace Contract is uniquely positioned to answer this demand due to our custom manufacturing capabilities. We are used to working with Acrylic, HDPE, and other non-standard materials created specifically to solve a customers’ need.”
Formaspace was quick to the race and set up for success due to their large-scale production capabilities for custom solutions; by securing the contract to manufacture 500 ESD workbenches in only 18 days for GM’s Kokomo, Indiana facility. GM will be using these workbenches to produce critically important ventilators for Coronavirus patients in partnership with Ventec Life Systems.
Formaspace Contract introduced three completely new products in response to the pandemic, thoughtfully named for their intended use & function. DEFCON-1 & DEFCON-2 are appropriately named in reference to the military term DEFCON that stands for defense readiness condition. DEFCON-1, being the maximum defense, is a desktop protective health shield made from HDPE, providing a durable, cost-effective, easy to install solution that can be mass-produced. It’s counterpart in the series, DEFCON-2, is a desktop acrylic sneeze guard that is just as easy to clean and install, providing a front-facing barrier, while the DEFCON-1 provides both front & side division giving it the higher ranking in the series.
The third new introduction is a full-height partition called InvisiShield, named for the invisible aesthetic of the two material options of either glass or acrylic. The InvisiShield has a sleek & sophisticated design. It can be supported with either feet or casters for those that require mobility. The glass version also comes with the additional feature of dry-erase capability, making it a multi-purpose solution sure to maintain the integrity of the open office design with its see-thru appearance.
The other 7 products in the catalog are standard offerings with the option of true customization setting Formaspace Contract apart from the rest of the market. The flexible manufacturing operations welcome the challenge of custom solutions while providing the capacity for bulk quantities. Formaspace Contract is uniquely positioned to be one of the first responders for the contract furniture industry to aid in the efforts of reawakening the economy and supporting a global return to business. They have expressed their sincere gratitude to those on the front lines risking their lives in this chaotic time. Frank Bucher, EVP of Sales & Marketing, had this to say about these unusual times, “In my 25 years of industry experience I have never seen such demand and urgency for product solutions that previously did not exist. These are uncertain times and it feels good to know that Formaspace is making products that help companies mitigate risk.”
