An advocate of continual learning, McInerny is recognized as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Specialist and Financial Risk Manager. He continues to seek out challenges to grow as a level II candidate for the CFA.
In his previous role, McInerny led a team of nearly two dozen bank examiners of multi-billion-dollar banks; improved the bank's Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) programs by recommending best practice enhancements for beneficial ownership, OFAC monitoring, suspicious activity monitoring and reporting, and oversaw ad-hoc analytics and participated in the trading review for 2021 Dodd Frank annual stress testing by leveraging SQL and Tableau and partnering with the supervision systems and analytics division.
He was also selected to join Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) to work with agency leadership in managerial roles for projects such as coordinating business lines to develop national risk committee priorities; and evaluated the financial adequacy and strategic viability of financial institutions given the riskiness of balance sheet positions, hedging strategies, capital adequacy, market sentiment, and competitive pressures.
