Former NBC News Anchor, Linda Vester, Speaks Out on Sexual Harassment
NEW YORK (PRWEB) October 24, 2017 -- Linda Vester, former Fox News and NBC News anchor, has published an online video teaching parents how to protect their daughters from sexual harassment at school. The video can be seen here on the new website for moms, http://www.smartmamas.com. The video can also be seen on Facebook.
Vester reveals, “At NBC News, I had to endure sexual harassment by a very powerful network figure. I didn’t know what to say to get out of the situation without offending him and losing my job, and reporting it to HR wasn’t an option.” In the midst of the #metoo movement, Vester has been approached by former colleagues in the industry to share their experiences. She points out, “Ironically, it’s the news networks who are all over the Harvey Weinstein story. But what they’re not saying is, it’s pervasive in television news — at all of the networks.”
As the mother of four children and founder of smartmamas.com, Vester was urged by other moms to help educate their sons and daughters about sexual harassment. Today’s video is the first of a series smartmamas.com will produce on the topic. There will other episodes on related topics, including how to handle catcalling on the street; how to educate boys about sexual harassment; and how to protect teens when they enter the workforce.
