LAS VEGAS, Oct. 8, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Former Nevada Attorney General George J. Chanos, Esq. recently released the book "Millennial Samurai: A Mindset for the 21st Century," which is designed to prepare millennials and more for a technological tsunami that is creating rapid and unprecedented change.
Chanos' core message is that success requires critical thinking, life-long learning and reskilling, a fidelity to core values and recognition of humanity's profound interdependence.
While experts and pundits focus on individual talking points, Chanos connects divergent data points, creating an awareness of the future that encourages readers to look at the big picture, addressing topics as varied as artificial intelligence, economic inequality, fake news, tribalism, political dysfunction and collaboration.
His recent book as well as his 2016, "Seize Your Destiny: Choices That Lead to a Happy, Successful, and Meaningful Life," resulted from a brush with death. Chanos suffered a heart attack in 2012, which left him resolved to prepare his daughter and nephew, both millennials, for the future.
Both books have been a hit with businesses purchasing copies to distribute to millennial personnel.
Chanos served as Nevada's 31st Attorney General from 2005-07. In that role, he administered Nevada's Department of Justice and acted as the state's chief legal officer. He also successfully (9/0) argued ― Warton v. Bockting, 549 U.S. 406 (2007) ― before the United States Supreme Court.
Prior to serving as Nevada's attorney general, Chanos had a distinguished legal career, representing clients on all matters relating to the growth and management of their businesses.
He currently serves as chairman of the board of Capriotti's Sandwich Shop, Inc. With 110 stores in 19 states, Capriotti's is one of the fastest growing quick service/fast casual restaurants franchises in the country.
Chanos credits four core values with laying the foundation for his success — character, courage, commitment and compassion.
"I write about these core values in my books," he said. "I have a true love of learning, and I'm willing and able to adapt to changing circumstances. I'm curious, and always look for opportunity in adversity. I'm constantly looking for value and opportunity, especially in failure. I leverage my strengths and mitigate my weaknesses. I believe in myself and in others, and I'm open to, and seek out, alternative perspectives. All of these mindsets contribute to success."
