Who thinks life in the military is boring? D.A. Wells proves his readers wrong as he narrates his story in his debut book “The PFC” (published by AuthorHouse).

The author met his friend who writes articles for a local newspaper and urged him to write a book. Because his life in the military contains stories that are worth telling, he decided to pen his story.

Many strange things occurred during Well’s two-year military stint. These events were described as funny, weird and unexplainable. Wells narrates his adventures through a series of short stories. These stories include his experience during his basic training, his encounter with a certain “Miss Italy,” his short-lived love story with the colonel’s daughter and his stay at Trieste. Wells invites readers to laugh as he offers them a series of entertaining stories of the things that can happen even when an enlisted soldier is not in combat.

Here is an excerpt taken from the book:
One day while waiting at Camp Kilmer to go overseas, a friend and I were heading toward the gate to go off camp for the afternoon that weekend. About a block before the gate, a Chevy hardtop with a light blue and white paint job stopped beside us and a captain jumped out and started raking us over the coals for not saluting him. When in his car we could not see his rank, but this guy was what we call a “Chicken-Shit Officer”.
