CHICAGO (PRWEB) July 22, 2015 -- Forum Studio, a full-service architecture and design firm, announces the growth of their planning, landscape architecture and urban design team in the Chicago office. Leading the effort will be Todd Meyer, director of planning + urban design, and Katie Martin, senior associate. Chip Crawford, senior principal and landscape architect based in Forum Studio’s Saint Louis office, will continue to head the overall planning practice.
With more than 22 years of experience, Meyer will play a key role in business development, project leadership and design oversight in the 90+ person firm. In addition to leading a growing planning team in Chicago, Meyer will collaborate with Martin and Forum Studio’s diverse group of urban planning and landscape architecture experts in St. Louis. With 9 years of experience, Martin will be responsible for leading all aspects of planning and landscape projects including project management and design from concept through construction. The expected work will include support of selected Clayco development projects and Forum’s architectural commissions as well as providing planning, landscape architecture and urban design services for independent clients.
“We are thrilled to have Todd and Katie join our team,” said Crawford. “Both understand our integrated delivery approach and have unique abilities to solve complex design problems. This is something we pride ourselves on at Forum Studio and we look forward to both of them bringing their expertise and new thinking to the table.”
Prior to joining Forum Studio, Meyer served as director of planning + urban design at SWA Group, while Martin was an Associate Principal at Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects. Meyer, Martin and Crawford all graduated from Kansas State University with degrees in Landscape Architecture, worked together previously at HOK and have designed projects of all types and scales locally, nationally and internationally for a wide range of public and private-sector clients.
Growth of an Award-Winning Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture Practice
Meyer and Martin join a previously-established design practice that is fully integrated between Chicago and Saint Louis. In the past 2 years, Forum Studio has won 7 American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Merit and Honor awards. This year alone, Forum Studio has won awards for the Gary Indiana International Airport master plan, Pearl of Istanbul conceptual design and St. Vincent Greenway master plan. Additional projects underway include the North Riverfront open space and redevelopment plan, which is being spear-headed by Great Rivers Greenway – the regional park + trails district in Saint Louis, and aims to promote economic revitalization of the district immediately north of the arch grounds. Internationally, Forum Studio’s planning group is also working on the ‘Pearl of Istanbul’ project which includes 3.65 million square feet of mixed-use development and is located 50km from the historic city center of Istanbul.
