Silicon Valley startup Pooki’s Mahi® announced today it introduced Kafpresso™ KrakaMoka™ coffee capsules designed by Founder/CEO Leslie Magsalay-Zeller allowing Nespresso® espresso drinkers to explore 100% single-origin coffee with cacao, mocha tastes.

Pooki’s Mahi Founder/CEO Leslie Magsalay-Zeller explains, “The large customers headquartered in the US that previously rejected Pooki’s Mahi in 2013 want Pooki’s Mahi product catalog. Pooki’s Mahi luxury Kona coffee pods and Matcha Matcha Man® tea capsules were previously rejected. Several large global customers didn’t want to deal with start-ups or a Founder/CEO that never launched consumer products goods (CPG). I also learned very quickly. Large customers asked for a 40% discount to merchandise, fulfill and distribute Pooki’s Mahi products. Executives and decision makers at large customers were not technologists. Decisions to carry or not carry Pooki’s Mahi Kona coffee pods were made on opinions on packaging design, margins, and the amount of work needed to keep me from accessing big data sets. For Pooki’s Mahi Matcha Matcha Man® tea capsules, the decision was based on how much margins I was willing to lose. I decided to focus on growing Pooki’s Mahi top line revenue from existing customers and online retailers whose primary focus was selling online.”

Big data analysis and customer feedback drive Pooki’s Mahi roadmap. I'm very familiar with Pooki’s Mahi customer’s journey because I analyze big data sets such as demographic market areas, customer profiles and the customer’s path to discovering Pooki’s Mahi brands - Pooki’s Mahi, Matcha Matcha Man, Kafpresso™ Nespresso coffee pods, or Komo Kitty℠ private label services,” says the Silicon Valley technology executive.

“I turned a 2018 supply chain FUBAR into an opportunity to reset Pooki’s Mahi operations with a Just In Time (JIT) supply chain model using existing processes, systems and protected IP I've developed. I built Pooki’s Mahi existing supply chain to support a just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing model enabling the company to control costs, manage inventory turns effectively, and to offer fresh roasted products to existing customers consistently. I manage Pooki’s Mahi® supply chain including sourcing raw goods. Identifying suppliers that passed Pooki’s Mahi stringent materials requirements was one of the biggest hurdles. I tri-source Pooki’s Mahi materials to avoid potential line-down issues. Pooki’s Mahi Kafpresso™ line of Nespresso® coffee pods are produced at an FDA certified manufacturing facility capable of producing millions of espresso coffee pods. Much easier for Pooki’s Mahi to introduce new products when primary, secondary and back-up suppliers consistently deliver materials under Pooki’s Mahi specifications,” explains Founder/CEO Leslie Magsalay-Zeller
