Three products developed by Rockler Woodworking and Hardware won 2019 Pro Tool Innovation Awards, and a fourth was named to WOOD Magazine's list of the most innovative tools for 2020.

Pro Tool Innovation Awards, which recognize the most innovative tools and accessories in a range of industry categories, went to Rockler's remote-controlled Dust Right 1250 CFM Wall Mount Dust Collector; Clamp-It Clips, which hold cabinet panels at right angles during assembly; and a special baseplate that allows users to mount a portable oscillating spindle sander in Rockler's Convertible Benchtop Router Table.

WOOD Magazine's editors selected the soon-to-be-released Dust Right Router Table Dado Dust Chute as one of five recipients of its annual Innovate Award. The Dust Chute mounts to a router table to capture the jet of dust that shoots out of a dado or groove during routing.

"Each year, manufacturers reach further and further to innovate and improve their products, helping improve job site efficiency, safety and productivity," said Clint DeBoer, executive director of the Pro Tool Innovation Awards. "While incremental advancements are the norm, some products truly distinguish themselves in the industry and deserve particular recognition."

A panel of judges made up of contractors, construction business owners, tradespeople and trade media professionals from across the United States evaluated more than 360 entries from more than 70 manufacturers for this year's awards. Judges were looking for innovative features, advanced power delivery, groundbreaking ergonomics, technological advancements and value.

The Dust Right 1250 CFM Wall-Mount Dust Collector (https://www.rockler.com/rockler-wall-mount-dust-collector-1250-cfm), which won in the Pro Tool Innovation Awards' "Vacuums and Dust Collectors" category, drew praise from the judges for its power and convenience. "We love the Rocker Dust Right system’s whole concept of attaching to the wall and saving floor space. Now with 1250 CFM of available suction power, it’s capable of covering a lot more shop space," they wrote. "We also really like the remote control … you’ll save time by avoiding the walk to and from the power switch."

Clamp-It Clips (https://www.rockler.com/rockler-clamp-it-clips-4-packs), which slip onto the top corner of two panels to hold so the user can drive fasteners, took the Pro Tool Innovation Award in the "Clamps" category. "Rockler Clamp-It Clips quite literally 'clamp down' on a common source of frustration by simply holding material at 90°," wrote the judges. "Just slip the clamp over the corner of your material and you’re no longer wishing you had a third or fourth hand. We love that, on Day 1, it’s as useful to master woodworkers as it is to a DIYer."

With the Convertible Benchtop Router Table Spindle Sander Baseplate for Triton Oscillating Spindle Sander (https://www.rockler.com/convertible-benchtop-router-table-baseplate-for-triton-oscillating-spindle-sander), Rockler won in the "Stands, Tables and Bases" category for the second consecutive year. "Not content to walk away with just one Pro Tool Innovation Award, Rocker is improving on last year’s winner by adding additional functionality to their Convertible Benchtop Router Table," the judges wrote. "This one is specifically for Triton’s Oscillating Spindle Sander, allowing it to install in the convertible table so you can use it as a spindle sander and router table. Brilliant!"

The Dust Right Router Table Dado Dust Chute (https://www.rockler.com/dust-right-router-table-dado-dust-chute), which appears on the cover of WOOD Magazine's December 2019/January 2020 issue, was one of five Innovate Award winners for 2020, chosen by the magazine's editors because they "impressed us with their ingenuity and usefulness."

The Dust Right 1250 CFM Wall Mount Dust Collector (54352) is priced at $529.99 each; Clamp-It Clips, which are available for 1/2" and 3/4" nominal-thickness materials (58225 and 58849), are priced at $9.99 for a pack of four; the Convertible Benchtop Router Table Spindle Sander Baseplate (53061) is priced at $19.99 each; and the Dust Right Router Table Dado Dust Chute (57495) is priced at $24.99 each.
