Frances Fisher joins the cast of the LGBTQ feature "Here We Are." Directed by Billy Clift, starring Mel England and Wil Jackson, the feature follows a gay, interracial couple — Phil (England) and John (Jackson) — as they navigate family, identity and a country in political turmoil.
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Frances Fisher ("Titanic," "Unforgiven") joins the cast of "Here We Are," starring Mel England, Wil Jackson, and Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe-winning actress Sally Kirkland in one of her final on-screen performances, directed by Emmy-nominated Billy Clift ("A Long Road to Freedom: The Advocate Celebrates 50 Years").
"Here We Are" follows a gay, interracial couple — Phil (England) and John (Jackson) — as they navigate family, identity and a country in political turmoil.
Fisher will play Denise, a spiritual mentor who helps England's character overcome a life-changing crisis.
Fisher played Strawberry Alice in Clint Eastwood's "Unforgiven" and Ruth DeWitt Bukater in James Cameron's "Titanic" — both Best Picture Oscar winners — and has built a career spanning "White Oleander" and "Woman in Gold." She most recently starred in "The Wrong Paris," with additional credits including "The King Tide" and "Reptile." Her television work includes "Watchmen," "Masters of Sex" and "The Shield."
Clift's directing credits include the Emmy-nominated documentary "A Long Road to Freedom: The Advocate Celebrates 50 Years," as well as "Until the Silence" and "Michael Childers: HERE-O'S." He most recently directed the short "Only Bears," which premiered at SF Queer Shorts Fest in San Francisco and screens next at Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBTQ+ Film Festival in September.
Clift directs from a script he co-wrote with England and Jackson. They produce alongside Jerome Joseph Gentes and executive producers Paul Burchett and Robert B. Martin Jr. The film is produced under England's Magical Iguana Productions.
The film also stars Chase Simone Christine Elise, Gregory Zarian and Elizabeth Regen, and features Jasper Cole, Jacy Crawford and Drew Droege.
