Franklin County Visitors Bureau Recommends Letterkenny Chapel 9/11 Memorial Serice
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (PRWEB) August 31, 2018 -- Franklin County Visitors Bureau invites the public to join the United Churches of the Chambersburg Area and the Historic Letterkenny Chapel and Franklin County Veterans and 9/11 Memorial Park Committee for a 9/11 Memorial Service at the Historic Letterkenny Chapel. The Chapel Service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., 2171 Carbaugh Avenue, Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg.
The Keynote Speaker will be Colonel Stephen Ledbetter, Commander, Letterkenny Army Depot. Colonel Ledbetter will offer reflections on that fateful day in the history of America, and the role of Letterkenny Army Depot, integral to the commitment of our nation’s defense to end terrorism across the globe.
Special music will be presented by Ms. Freda Dorand, Organist, First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Community Chorus, under the direction of Marcel Coates.
The Chapel Service will conclude with a rifle salute and the playing of Taps by the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard, as final tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will also take place, following Honors to the fallen, as dedication to the recently resurfaced “Trail of Service”, with appreciation to the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, and Patriot Federal Credit Union.
