Franklin County Visitors Bureau to Feature Photographs From the 2018 Appalachian Trail Photo Contest Running Through Oct. 1
(PRWEB) August 14, 2018 -- Franklin County Visitors Bureau recommends entering the 2018 Appalachian Trail Photo Contest now through Oct. 1. This contest is being offered by the Greater Waynesboro, PA Area Appalachian Trail Community for the 50th Anniversary of the National Trails System.
Each participant can submit up to three photographs featuring flora, fauna, people or scenes featuring the Appalachian Trail. Judging of these photographs will be done by both popular vote and a committee and will be separated into amateur and professional work.
For both categories, the winner receives a guided photo hike on the AT within our local area and the top three placing winners all receive a Greater Waynesboro PA Area Community t-shirt.
These photos will be placed on display at Market Day (Oct. 6) downtown Waynesboro to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the National Trails System. They will also be eligible to be displayed at the Franklin County Visitors Bureau’s new location, 11/30 Visitors Center opening this fall at 15 S. Main Street in Chambersburg.
Photos submitted can be of all materials, including but not limited to photo paper prints, canvas and metal prints. Framed photographs are asked to have picture wire and no saw-tooth hangers. Unframed photographs must have a good backing such as mat board or foam core to be displayed. The maximum size for photographs that will be accepted is 16”x20.”
