FREDERICK, Md., Feb. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Frederick County Bancorp, Inc. (OTC Pink Marketplace: FCBI), the parent company for Frederick County Bank ("FCB"), is excited to announce the appointment of Kimberly Chaney to Chairman of the Board of Directors (the "Board"), and Nicholas Damoulakis to Vice Chairman of the Board.
This news comes as the previous Chairman of the Board, Raymond Raedy, steps down to serve as a member of the Board. He joined the Board when the bank opened in 2001 and was appointed Chairman in 2012. He has decided to take on a smaller role within the bank due to his permanent residency in North Carolina. Former Vice Chair, Denny Crum, will also continue to serve the bank as a member of the Board.
Chaney has been a member of the Board since 2013 and has served as the Chairman of the Board's Audit and Risk Committee, ensuring the bank is operating in a safe and sound manner. Chaney has been a Certified Public Accountant for 35 years, and has owned her own business for 11 years. As a lifelong resident of Frederick County, she has donated her time to many local organizations, previously serving as the president and treasurer of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, Chairman of the Board at the Weinberg Center for the Arts, Co-Chair of Endowment Development for the YMCA of Frederick County and the Chair of the Women's Giving Circle.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed serving on the bank's Board under the leadership of Raymond and Denny for several years now. I'm excited about the opportunity this new position brings me, and I feel lucky to have such a strong Board presence behind me," said Chaney. "And as a small business owner myself, I can appreciate the hard work that goes into owning and operating a business, like many of the bank's clients do. I'm looking forward to working with our clients and shareholders, and getting to know their stories."
Damoulakis joined the bank's Board of Directors in 2016 and has been a member of the Board's Audit and Risk Committee, alongside Chaney. Damoulakis is the president of Orases, an interactive business and technology solutions provider, and was recently inducted into the Forbes Technology Council. He has served as the president and treasurer of his church and participates in several volunteer activities and community programs including Tech Frederick, Vistage and Accelerent.
"Kim's extensive leadership and Board experience will continue to be extremely beneficial to our bank," said President and CEO Bill Talley. "I have worked with both Kim and Nick for many years, and they have proven to be invaluable assets for our organization. I'm looking forward to continuing our partnership and working together to support the bank, its employees and its clients."
