INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Freedom Healthworks, a company dedicated to developing and accelerating the Direct Primary Care movement, today announced the hiring of Dr. Risheet Patel as Medical Director. In this new role, Dr. Patel will develop Freedom Healthworks' clinical strategy, including outreach to prospective physician clients, developing clinical operations programming, and improving Freedom Healthworks' processes and services. He will continue to practice at Fishers Direct Family Care, his own Direct Primary Care practice located in Fishers, Indiana.

Dr. Patel brings 15 years of experience as a physician to Freedom Healthworks. His career began at a large health system, where he led clinical teams in vetting new systems and protocols. In 2017, he gave up big box medicine to start his own independent Direct Primary Care practice, Fishers Direct Family Care. He continues to grow the next generation of physicians, working with medical students and residents. He is a past president of the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians and still serves on their Executive Committee. He also serves on several committees in Indianapolis including the Indiana Medicaid Therapeutics Committee and the Indiana Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative.
A primary care physician focused on preventive care and general wellness, Dr. Patel completed his residency in Family Medicine at Community Health Network. His background also includes work in medical informatics, specifically leveraging technology to provide better patient care. An Indianapolis native, Dr. Patel attended college in New York, graduating with his medical degree from Albany Medical College, and graduating summa cum laude from Union College.
