From Cop to Coffee Company: New Jersey Police Officer Launches BLM Brew Co., A Black Woman Owned Coffee Company
Toni Mitchell, a black female police officer, has launched BLM Brew Co. to help inspire other people of color to be proudly Black, liberated, and motivated.
PRINCETON, N.J., Jan. 18, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Toni Mitchell, Founder and CEO of BLM Brew Co. is no stranger to adversity. From her childhood as a dark skinned Black girl in a predominately white town to her career as the first and only Black female police officer in her department, she has faced a heavy burden of racism, sexism, and colorism.
Now she's launching a coffee company to help inspire other Black women to be proudly Black, liberated, and motivated.
Of her new company, Toni Mitchell said, "I am a proud, Black, liberated and motivated woman. My ambition and desire for BLM Brew Co. is to bring awareness to racism and break down social and economic barriers that exist for people of color."
Though BLM Brew Co. is currently an online only company, Toni hopes to be in major retailers by the end of the year. They are currently co-packing with a small, privately owned roaster in Brooklyn and have seven flavors of coffee available for purchase.
In addition to coffee, BLM Brew Co. is also selling coffee mugs and motivational apparel for people of color and their Allies. For more information, visit their website at blmbrew.com
