Andrew Wagoner, Director of U.S. Product and Market Strategy at MaXpeedingRods, discusses the U.S. automotive aftermarket following a five-day program at the company's HQ and facilities. The interview covers customer priorities, product development, motorsport, and engagement with American automotive communities.
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Founded in 2006, MaXpeedingRods operates in the automotive aftermarket. Its vision, "Your Gateway to Performance Driving," focuses on making automotive upgrades more approachable for enthusiasts.
As Director of U.S. Product and Market Strategy, Andrew Wagoner leads MaXpeedingRods' efforts to grow in the American market and helps ensure that its offerings reflect what U.S. drivers need. Wagoner joined the company from a career in motorsport and precision manufacturing, where, as he puts it, "a part either performs or the weekend is over."
In this interview, Wagoner discusses the U.S. automotive aftermarket and the roles of customer insight, product development, motorsport, and community engagement in MaXpeedingRods' continued development in the United States.
1.How would you describe the U.S. automotive aftermarket, and what makes it distinctive?
Andrew Wagoner: The American market is huge, with many different car cultures, and the products MaXpeedingRods offers today already serve many of them.
Drivers build and use their vehicles in different ways, and each automotive community has its own interests and expectations. This diversity gives MaXpeedingRods the opportunity to serve a broad range of customers and become more closely connected with those communities.
2.What features of MaXpeedingRods' products best meet the needs of U.S. enthusiasts?
Andrew Wagoner: MaXpeedingRods already serves many areas of American car culture while keeping aftermarket products accessible to enthusiasts.
Clear instructions and product information help customers understand what is available and select products for their needs. Listening to customer feedback also helps us understand how drivers use their vehicles and tailor product packages accordingly.
3.What did you expect from the factory visit, and what stood out?
Andrew Wagoner: I came in wanting to see the standard behind the products: how parts are made, checked, and tested. What stood out was the scale of the manufacturing and assembly activities, along with machining operations, quality-control tools, and data related to product testing. Seeing these processes firsthand gave me a clearer understanding of how the different teams work together.
4.What did you learn from speaking with the product teams, and did your discussions cover future development?
Andrew Wagoner: Speaking with the product teams gave me a clearer view of their development processes. I learned how an initial idea is put on paper, developed into a concept and prototype, and ultimately moved into production.
Each product group has its own approach to new and existing products, including additions, modifications, and version updates, while maintaining a shared standard of quality. We also discussed current product lines and future ideas, and I had the opportunity to provide feedback and share insights from the U.S. market.
5.What were your expectations before visiting the MaXpeedingRods racing workshop, and did the experience bring back memories of your previous work with racing teams?
Andrew Wagoner: I expected a working race shop with the right equipment and specialists across different areas, and that is what I found. Meeting the team and walking through the race car builds gave me a clear picture of the racing program and how the team works.
It did bring back memories. The work is the same work I did with racing teams in America: understanding the car, choosing the parts that support the program, and learning from every race weekend. That common ground is where my experience can support the MaXpeedingRods team most directly.
6.Where do you see MaXpeedingRods today, and what road lies ahead in the United States?
Andrew Wagoner: I see MaXpeedingRods as an organization that has demonstrated its ability to provide automotive aftermarket products at scale and make them accessible to enthusiasts. That mission has guided the company for 20 years.
The road ahead is deeper involvement in American automotive communities and clubs. Enthusiasts can tell whether a brand is truly authentic. We want to show that we share their passion, listen to our customers, and design products that help them enjoy their projects, vehicle builds, and racing programs. We want customers to feel that they are part of the MaXpeedingRods community.
