Furia Rubel Communications, Inc., an award-winning, integrated marketing and public relations agency, welcomes Leslie Richards as its first Chief Innovation Officer (CIO). As CIO, Richards is committed to building alignment among all project stakeholders, growing and mentoring strong teams, adapting new digital technologies to better serve the agency’s clients, and creating momentum in the delivery of client goals.

Richards has been helping marketing and design teams excel for more than 25 years. Since 2005, she has served in agency leadership positions where she spearheaded the development of branding, digital asset creation, and online marketing strategies for large healthcare and life science organizations; engineering and manufacturing companies; and legal and professional service firms. She has led the launch of more than 1,200 websites and countless digital campaigns.

“The creation of our first Chief Innovation Officer position reflects our increased focus on technology, innovation and the future of marketing and public relations,” said Gina Rubel, the agency’s founder and CEO. “Leslie’s entrepreneurial spirt, leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to adapt quickly in emerging markets is extraordinary. She is ideally suited to lead Furia Rubel’s approach to its innovation efforts.”

A content marketing strategist, Richards embraces the power of good quality data and combines analysis with a solid understanding of clients’ business goals. Through a combination of messaging and data, she deploys smart SEO tactics that support the strategic goals of clients’ marketing, public relations and content campaigns. As an early adopter of marketing automation programs, Richards shares her understanding of artificial intelligence and its potential to transform the way companies go to market with members of the Furia Rubel team and its clients. She began her career in graphic design and educational publishing where she embraced the technological transformation of both fields.

The co-founder of Immigrant Rights Action, a nonprofit organization serving the undocumented community in Bucks County, Pa., Richards advocates for immigration reform. In her spare time, she is a painter and printmaker. Originally trained as a potter, Richards enjoys creative processes that are centuries old as a means of connecting to fundamental human aspirations. She has received a Vermont Council on the Arts Grant and has shown her work throughout the United States.
