Galvan Industries Receives AGA's 2019 Award of Excellence For Hot Dip Galvanizing Imperial Sugar Plant Expansion
HARRISBURG, N.C. (PRWEB) May 16, 2019 -- A Galvan Industries galvanizing project, the Imperial Sugar Plant Expansion in Port Wentworth, Ga., is a winner in the American Galvanizers Association's 2019 Excellence in Hot-Dip Galvanizing Awards. The project won recognition in the Food & Agriculture category of the competition.
Imperial Sugar chose hot-dip galvanizing by Galvan Industries, Inc. of Harrisburg, NC, to protect their specialized tanks, supports, handrails and ladders from corrosion. Imperial Sugar Company is the largest sugar refining organization in the United States. Due to its low life-cycle cost and lack of required maintenance, the galvanized steel produced for this project will continue to save the company money over the decades it is in service.
The American Galvanizers Association (AGA) has presented the Excellence Awards annually since 1995 to recognize the after-fabrication use of hot-dip galvanized steel in an ideal, creative, monumental, or otherwise impressive fashion. As galvanizing is used in many applications, the awards program honors projects in various categories. Excellence Awards winners represent the finest achievements in hot-dip galvanizing.
This year's award is the 10th for Galvan Industries in the AGA Award program. The award was presented at the AGA's annual conference in Sanibel Harbour, Florida.
