MINNEAPOLIS, July 21, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Gays Do the D, an unofficial Disney podcast with an LGBTQ+ twist, is excited to announce that it will celebrate its 100th episode on Monday, August 3, 2020. The podcast will also celebrate its two-year anniversary on Monday, September 7, 2020.
The weekly podcast, hosted by best friends and Disney armchair experts Adam Hummel and Patrick Kozicky, celebrates all aspects of Disney culture, examines Disney's complicated relationship with the LGBTQ+ community, and features recurring segments like 'A Walk in the Park,' 'Walt Quizney,' 'Questions & Peter Panswers,' 'Fab Five,' and 'Quick D.' The podcast also includes Disney parks and resorts trip reports from Adam, Patrick and their friends, as well as interviews with Disney cast members, social media influencers, and related industry professionals such as Deke Sharon, director of Disney's seven voice all-star a capella ensemble DCapella, 'Hamilton' actor Sydney James Harcourt, and 'Ru Paul's Drag Race' season 11 contestant and Disney superfan Nina West.
Of the podcast's anniversary, co-host and producer Adam Hummel said, "When we recorded our first episode in 2018, we had no idea Gays Do the D would garner thousands of listeners. We love sharing our enthusiasm for Disney with fellow Disnerds from the LGBTQ+ community and our allies. We laugh a lot while recording and, oftentimes, it's at ourselves for feeling so passionately about a subject that many adults dismiss as 'children's entertainment.'"
Co-host and producer Patrick Kozicky said, "It's been fascinating taking a deeper dive into what resonates with our audience and why there is such an emotional connection to Disney. We're having conversations with our listeners about how Disney has shaped who we are and how we see the world, and we're examining areas where we'd like to see Disney improve, like LGBTQ+ representation. It's been incredibly rewarding work, and we've made amazing connections with people all over the world!"
