About the Author:
Now living in Perth, Australia, Anil was born in Henderson, Kentucky, where he lived in the former slave quarters of a plantation. He was editor of his high school annual, as well as valedictorian and class president. After deciding to be a Baptist preacher, he later switched to biology, earning a BS from Wake Forest and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins, with positions at the Universities of Illinois (microbiology), Pittsburgh (biology) and Western Australia (biochemistry). He retired at age 39 to pursue writing full time and to explore mysticism and spirituality, becoming a Sannyasin of Osho Rajneesh. "It was he who gave me the name Anil." The author has lived in Perth since 1973. "The most interesting thing about Perth is that it is the world's second most remote state capital after Siberia's."
