Ginger Healthcare Announces Scheme to Offer Free Arabic Interpreter Service for Arab Patients in India
Ginger Healthcare Private Ltd, a leading medical tourism company in India today announced the launch of healthcare scheme Ahibayi Al-Arab (أحبائي العرب). Meaning "Dear Arab", the scheme aims to make medical treatment easier and more affordable for patients from Arabic speaking countries seeking treatment in India. Under this initiative, Ginger Healthcare will be providing complimentary Arabic translators /interpreters to patients traveling to India for treatment through Ginger Healthcare's patient assistance service.
GURGAON, Haryana, Dec. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Despite Arabic speaking countries such as Oman, Yemen, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq etc. accounting for over 30 per cent of the roughly 5 lakhs medical tourists in India in 2017, the support infrastructure for these nationals still remain inadequate and unorganised in the country. Also, language remains the biggest impediment as English is still not that prevalent language for most of these countries.
In the absence of English language ability or competence, patients often rely on freelance translators and interpreters who are hired by payment of daily fees ranging from $10 to as high as $50 a day. The cost of hiring a translator for few weeks to a few months can run very high, and this becomes an additional burden for most patients who are already burdened with cost of airfare, accommodation, and treatment. Furthermore, most of the translators are not adequately trained to translate medical terminologies; as a result, patients find it difficult to communicate efficiently with doctors. Validating identities of freelance translators is also a challenge.
Ginger Healthcare seeks to help international patients get over the communication barrier by providing expert, trained, and verified interpreters at no extra cost to the patient.
