Giorgio's at Hotel Granduca appoints Kristine Mills as Music Director of a New Live Concert Series

HOUSTON, Feb. 18, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- 'Kristine Mills announces her position as Music Director of Giorgio's Piano Bar and Lounge at Hotel Granduca Houston. Mills, an award-winning songwriter, singer and performer, was inspired by her many visits to the Carlyle Hotel in New York to curate a music series at Giorgio's. The weekly music performances highlight sought-out voices and entertainers local to Houston that add a narrative and focus to their sets.

Giorgio's at Hotel Granduca is unique to Houston. Guests will enjoy dinner and a show or a cocktail and light bites in the Tuscan-inspired setting.

The Borlenghi Family, owners of the property, bring their high level of excellence from respected real estate company, Interfin, known for the Four-Leaf Towers, Uptown Park and so many other distinguished addresses. They later expanded into the hotel business in 2006 with the sophisticated Hotel Granduca, the first property of the Interfin Hotels hospitality group. Mills' relationship with the Borlenghi family goes back decades. When they first opened the hotel, she shared her vision with owners, Giorgio and Cathy Borlenghi, about how to make their hotel a destination for great music just like Bemelmans's Bar and the Café Carlyle inside New York City's quintessential Carlyle Hotel. The weekly music program starts with "Jazz and Cocktails," a Tuesday, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, night presentation where guests can enjoy light bites accompanied by great jazz pianists. Fridays, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, and Saturdays, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, presents "Live at Giorgio's" when Kristine Mills, Bubba McNeely, Danette McMahon Julie Johnson and other notable jazz performers serenade audiences. Sunday Classic Brunch, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, features dynamic pianists from Houston. The program will also bring in Grammy-nominated and critically acclaimed talent from New York, Boston, Austin and New Orleans, focusing on performers with ties to the Bayou City, for special weekend residencies.

Mills is no stranger to the stage. This native Houstonian has graced many stages throughout the United States and Brazil, touring and performing her special brand of jazz and bossa nova in clubs, charity events and performing arts centers. She's most proud of her songwriting that earned her a Houston Press Music Best Songwriter's award. At the time, she was the second female in 25 years to earn that distinction. She's also a Best Vocalist award winner. This year is a celebration of her 30-year songwriting career. Mills is recording her seventh album, "Looking Back. Moving Forward.," which will be released as a digital extended play next year. The album is a collection of newly written and older songs that have found a new place in her life.
