Giuseppe's Cafe Stumbled Into a Winning Restaurant Strategy
Trafford, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) December 17, 2013 -- Giuseppe's Cafe in Trafford, Pennsylvania; Tiara Cafe in Los Angeles, California and Trent Pierce's Roe in Portland, Oregon are executing very similar restaurant strategies.
In an article written by Kate Krader in the January edition of Food & Wine magazine, titled "2013 Restaurant Preview: Biggest Trends, Openings and Recipes," one of the biggest trends identified is restaurants having a restaurant living inside another.
Examples of this are given with Los Angeles, California Tiara Cafe becoming Starry Kitchen offering an entirely separate menu from healthy Italian to Pan-Asian. In Portland, Oregon Trent Pierce's Roe offers local seafood in the back of a Japanese Isakaya called Wafu.
At Giuseppe's Cafe, its main menu offers an array of pasta dishes with various old world Italian sauces, focaccia breads and appetizers consisting of stuffed banana peppers, zucchini planks, sauteed calamari among other delights.
On the weekend, this restaurant offers BBQ ribs, steak, lobster, seafood, which appeals to a complete different audience. According to Keith Backlarz, manager of Giuseppe's Caf, this versatility is being much appreciated in the marketplace. It offers variety, attracts new customers and keeps the existing customers by offering something different, while maintaining their favorite dishes.
Keith goes on to say keeping a customer is vital to a restaurant, and this concept has been extremely beneficial not only to do just that but also securing new ones.
This concept allows us to fight back industry downturn. Our restaurant is not only maintaining its customer base but creating new ones. This is something we stumbled upon and did not expect.
At the end of the day, yes, we are having it all.
Giuseppe’s Café, it sounds like an Italian restaurant and it is. But it’s more not only are all the traditional Italian dishes served but there are delicious baby back BBQ ribs and pulled pork. During the spring, summer, and early fall they roast a pig on a spit on their outside patio.
Joe Cugliari the owner, comes from an Italian family of cooks with over 100 years of combined cooking experience. The family emigrated from Argentina where they know how to prepare beef. They provide the total experience with a variety of meals in a piano playing ambiance. Giuseppe's Cafe provides it all at surprisingly low prices. We have been extremely surprised as to how well this concept of a restaurant within a restaurant has worked for us. Italian, BBQ, steak and seafood all under one roof.
It’s probably less than 20 minutes to get to Giuseppe’s Café from anywhere in the Pittsburgh area. 833 Trafford Harrison City Road (State Road 130) Trafford, PA 15085
