Giving Back: EarQ Helps Students in Need Prepare for a Healthy School Year
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. (PRWEB) August 02, 2018 -- On July 28, representatives from EarQ, a network of independent hearing healthcare providers, provided services in Bourbonnais, Illinois, for students in need. This took place at the Bears Care Back to School Health Fair, a collaborative effort by organizations passionate about making a difference for the students of Kankakee and Iroquois counties as they face a new school year.
This was the sixth consecutive year representatives from EarQ attended this health fair sponsored by Catholic Charities and Bears Care. At the event, children and their families can receive services such as hearing and dental care, school physicals, nutritional information, child development education, financial support, school supplies, haircuts, and more.
The EarQ team, including representatives from Loyola University Medical Center, The Hearing Rehabilitation Center, and North Shore Audio Vestibular Lab provided free hearing screenings, free cleanings, and hearing health education to attendees. Over the years, EarQ and its representatives have had the opportunity to work with thousands of children and their family members through this event.
“It is rewarding to be able to make a difference,” says Andrew Hebert, Senior VP of EarQ. "Hearing loss is becoming a more prevalent issue for children and teens, and events such as the Back-to-School Health Fair allow EarQ to educate this generation on the importance of their hearing health.”
