The space celebrated its grand opening in September 2026, with residents arriving when doors opened at 7 a.m. and a live DJ on site to kick off the morning.
The expansion increases the gym's workout space by 53% and doubles the amount of available equipment, giving residents more training options and less time waiting for machines. The upgraded space features brand-new cardio equipment, multiple free-weight zones, advanced strength-training areas and a dedicated Olympic-style weightlifting space that supports everything from everyday workouts to serious training routines. An expanded stretching and recovery area adds room for warm-ups, cool-downs and mobility work.
"Wellness shapes how our residents spend their days at Riverland, and the fitness center is one of the places they gather most," said Misha Ezratti, president of GL Homes. The expanded gym joins the Wellness & Fitness Center's existing offerings, including personal training, a full schedule of group fitness classes and Pulse Fit Studios, which features five dedicated spaces for reformer Pilates, bungee fitness, yoga, cycling and boot camp-style classes. The center also includes a 17,000-square-foot indoor sports center with a four-lane indoor pool and multi-use courts, along with the RiverFresh Café, which serves fresh juices, smoothies and post-workout favorites.
The Wellness & Fitness Center anchors Riverland's network of shared resort-style amenities, which also includes the 24-acre Sports & Racquet Club, the 5-acre Arts & Culture Center, Riverland Paseo City Park and Riverland Town Center. The Paseo Greenway, a traffic-free network of landscaped pathways, links these destinations to neighborhoods throughout the 4,000-acre community, so residents can get around by foot, bicycle or golf cart.
Riverland is home to five Valencia 55+ communities by GL Homes including Valencia Cay, Valencia Grove, Valencia Walk, Valencia Parc and now, Valencia Vista, which celebrated its grand opening in June 2026.
