Global Eating Disorders Treatment Organization Announces New Chapters
The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™), recognized for its excellence in providing innovative education and high-level training standards to eating disorder treatment professionals, today announced the addition of three new national chapters to its organization.
PEKIN, Ill., July 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™), recognized for its excellence in providing innovative education and high-level training standards to eating disorder treatment professionals, today announced the addition of three new national chapters to its organization. Boasting a current chapter roster of 36 national and international chapters strong, iaedp™ will continue its mission by providing networking opportunities and fostering career and leadership development to those who work in and around the eating disorders treatment and related healthcare community.
The new national iaedp™ chapters are:
Alaska Chapter - Grace Schumacher serves as president.
Kansas City Chapter – Sheila Swearngin serves as chapter president.
SC Midlands Chapter - Kelly Toney serves as chapter president.
Memphis Chapter – Britt Palmer serves as chapter president.
San Antonio Chapter – Landry Yarborough serves as chapter president.
"Every day, more and more eating disorders professionals are creating and joining local iaedp™ chapters to increase their networking and professional experiences," said Bonnie Harkin, Managing Director at the iaedp™ Foundation. The iaedp™ International Chapter, led by Rosanna Mauro de Maya, MS, RD, CEDRD-S, will convene its first Professional Day Training in Costa Rica, the first iaedp™ training outside of the United States. This training will bring together a collective of eating disorders treatment professionals, including Rosanna Mauro de Maya, MS, RD, CEDRD-S; iaedp™ Board Member, Emmett Bishop, MD, FAED, F.iaedp CEDS; iaedp™ International Chapter Dominican Republic Co-Chairs, Aridia Vásquez, MD, MS, RD and Zuleiko Morillo de Nieto, MD; and iaedp™ International Chapter Mexico Chair, Julieta Vélez, PsyD.
"Conducted in Spanish and themed "Multidisciplinary Integrative Treatment of Eating Disorders," the iaedp™ international chapter will provide an excellent day of training focused on the medical, psychiatric, nutritional and psychological aspects of assessment and treatment of eating disorders," said Blanche Williams, Director of International Development at iaedp™.
