ATLANTA, Mar. 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Students, residents and teachers in scientific disciplines now have a database from which to publish and download high-quality images and videos accompanied by basic information and descriptions. Global Library of Scientific Images collects submissions from members, peer reviewing every entry before publication. After an image is vetted and approved by an editorial board composed of leaders in the field, it is available to download without cost for all educational purposes.
"In my conversations with cardiology fellows and medicine residents, I realized there was no suitable home for high-quality images and videos that weren't accompanied by detailed case studies or reports," said founder Joe B. Calkins Jr., M.D. "We wanted to create a place where medical trainees could share their high-quality images and videos and gain publication credit in the process."
Additionally, Global Library of Scientific Images streamlines the lecture preparation process for medical or science instructors. Instead of searching through multiple sites and databases for illustrative images of questionable quality, instructors may now find everything they need in one location. Members may even request an image or video directly from a contributor if they're unable to find exactly what they're looking for.
"Though created with the medical trainee or instructor in mind, Global Library of Scientific Images is adaptable to all scientific disciplines," said C. Registration is free and allows members to begin submitting their own images and videos for editorial board approval.
