Global Leaders, Senior Members of Congress and Administration to Attend "Graphene On Capitol Hill" Event in May
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) February 27, 2019 -- American business and industry leaders will join U.S. government officials and international graphene leaders for the American Graphene Summit to be held in Washington, D.C., May 21-22, 2019.
The unprecedented two-day Summit features a “Graphene On Capitol Hill” event, keynoted by Senator Roger Wicker. (R. Miss), chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee. Responding to Senator Wicker’s invitation, senior members of Congress and Administration and leaders of graphene industries will focus on shaping the architecture surrounding graphene technologies and evaluate its impact on the U.S. and the global economy.
“Graphene is a material with enormous potential. The American Graphene Summit will help participants assess the ability of this material to improve consumer products and develop recommendations to support U.S. leadership in graphene commercialization,” Senator Wicker said.
Organized by the National Graphene Association (NGA), the American Graphene Summit will begin on May 21, 2019, with the “Graphene Leaders” event held at the W hotel, concluding on May 22 with the “Graphene On Capitol Hill” event. The “Graphene Leaders” event will explore the future of graphene in different industrial segments and product markets such as automotive, aviation, oil and gas, telecommunication, healthcare, and electronics.
The “Graphene On Capitol Hill“ event will be held in partnership with U.K. representatives at the Kennedy Caucus Room in Russell Senate building. Representatives from the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Energy (DOE), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and Economic Development Administration (EDA), as well as state legislators, members of the Congress, and international dignitaries will be in attendance to discuss invigorating graphene-focused collaborations between business and government in the national and international verticals.
“For the first time ever, we are creating a platform where current and future stakeholders in graphene will convene to identify focus areas critical to the national U.S. objectives — from security, infrastructure, and economic standpoints — and how graphene can significantly impact these focus areas.” said Dr. Zina Jarrahi Cinker, Executive Director of the NGA.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL GRAPHENE ASSOCIATION
The National Graphene Association (NGA) is the primary organization and body in the United States advocating and promoting the commercialization of graphene and addressing critical issues such as standards and policy development.
Dubbed the “wonder material of 21st century,” graphene is the thinnest and strongest material ever discovered. Graphene is one atomic layer of carbon — transparent, flexible, and an excellent thermal and electrical conductor. NGA convenes current and future graphene stakeholders from graphene companies, research bodies, suppliers, developers, investors, venture capitalist and government agencies to drive innovation and expedite the commercialization of graphene technologies globally. Founded in 2016 by Dr. Ed Meek, the National Graphene Association is headquartered in Oxford, Mississippi, USA.
