“This is an elite group with the diversity of experience that we need to help drive the goals and accomplishments of the Global SOF Foundation.” -- Stu Bradin, Global SOF Foundation President & CEO

The Global Special Operations Forces (SOF) Foundation, the only professional association for the international SOF community, is a network-driven organization that relies on the experiences and contributions of its members.

One of the most impactful groups within the Foundation is the Advisory Council--which has just made a leap from 9 to 44 members. These 35 new representatives come from a wide array of special operations backgrounds from 12 different nations.

The nations represented cover five continents: Australia, Colombia, Estonia, France, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Republic of Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Representatives range from former Commanders of U.S. Special Operations Command, like ADM (Ret) William H. McRaven, to legendary Army NCOs like CSM (Ret) Christopher Zets.

Not all of the members gained their experience with SOF through active duty service. For example, Mr. Bruno Tertrais is an expert in geopolitics and international relations and His Excellency Juan Carlos Pinzón served as Ambassador of Colombia to the United States.

Through their combined networks and unique points-of-view, the Global SOF Foundation expects to lean heavily on this council for guidance and ideas to continue to push the global “tip of the spear.”

The Advisory Council is Chaired by Lt Gen (Ret) Thomas Trask, former Vice Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command. The full list of Global SOF Advisors is as follows:
