Milpitas, Calif. (PRWEB) February 22, 2016 -- The Global Supply Chain Resiliency Council (GSCRC) unveiled publicly today the online Riskipedia. Riskipedia is an open-source project and online resource that captures and chronicles the most important Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) and Resiliency terms and concepts, people and organizations, and tools and technologies.
Like Wikipedia, the resource is a living document that serves as both a glossary and an encyclopedia. It is therefore open to submissions from the SCRM professional and academic community in order to foster improvement and to help it grow. It is available not only online, but as a downloadable PDF. As such it is intended to serve as both a quick online reference and as support material for education and training purposes.
“The Riskipedia project aligns perfectly one of the principal goals and strategies of the Resiliency Council,” said Bill Hurles, Executive Director of the GSCRC. “It leverages the collective knowledge and energy of our professional community in order to advance the discipline through educational tools and best practices.”
The current version was created by a team at Resilinc, the technical advisor to the Resiliency Council, and solicited contributions from the Resiliency Council’s general membership, which now numbers well over 1,000. It follows in the footsteps of the Ultimate Guide to Supply Chain Resiliency Program Success, which was the first major reference guide published by the Resiliency Council in 2015. Thousands of copies of the Ultimate Guide handbook have been downloaded to date and similar success and interest in the Riskipedia is anticipated since it was designed as a complementary tool to the Ultimate Guide.
The “2nd Annual Global Supply Chain Resiliency Council and Awards” event will take place next week, Wednesday, February 24th, 2016, at the Sheraton Palo Alto Hotel in Palo Alto, CA (8:30AM-5:00PM). The formal launch announcement of the Riskipedia will take place there. The event is open to all supply chain risk management and resiliency practitioners and stakeholders. Space is limited, but interested individuals can still register here.
