Gloria A. Robinson's Newly Released "I Forgive" is a Haunting Memoir from a Time When Black Lives Didn't Matter
"I Forgive" from Christian Faith Publishing author Gloria A. Robinson is a harrowing true account of a time in the author's childhood when her house was torched in an act of violent racism, claiming the lives of her siblings, robbing her temporarily of her sight, and charring her body so badly she would need multiple skin grafts and intense recovery--only to survive for many years with permanently contractured hands and a quiet sense of strength born from forgiveness.
MEADVILLE, Pa., Dec. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "I Forgive": a searing, touching memoir of injustice and turning the other cheek. "I Forgive" is the creation of published author Gloria A. Robinson, a married mother determined to be "color-blind" when it comes to the skin of her fellow human beings.
Robinson writes, "My siblings' lives were taken much too soon. I was marred, scared, and left blind, but I forgive. Forgiveness frees us from self, saves us the cost of anger, and relieves us from hatred. Forgiveness is not giving up a right of possession. It is like a medicine that frees the soul. Unforgiveness poisons our lives, steals our joy, and endangers our relationships. Worst of all, it shuts the door to God's grace."
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Gloria A. Robinson's new book is a layered, tragic narrative that draws the reader in with its quiet strength and wise perspective.
Robinson shares her story of healing both inside and out, and the divine destiny that allowed her to open her eyes, literally and spiritually, to the all-encompassing nature of God's love manifesting itself every time she looked in the mirror.
