GMO Internet and Aozora Bank Consider Internet Banking Partnership
Tokyo, Japan (PRWEB) June 30, 2015 -- GMO Internet, Inc. has begun looking at a partnership with Aozora Bank, Ltd. which would see the two companies jointly operate an Internet banking service.
GMO Internet is the company at the core of GMO Internet Group. The comprehensive Internet services Group was established in 1995, at the dawn of the Internet industry, and today operates in four business segments; Internet Infrastructure, Online Advertising & Media, Internet Securities, and Mobile Entertainment.
Aozora Bank entered the banking industry in 1957, and now provides high value-add financial solutions including consumer banking, corporate banking, specialized banking and financial markets.
Growing smartphone use and an expanding ecommerce market have given rise to a greater diversity of needs that are no longer being met by traditional banking services. GMO Internet and Aozora Bank envision combining the strengths of the two companies to provide an improved online experience for customers. The two companies are now considering launching an Internet banking service.
The Internet bank service is expected to operate under Aozora Bank wholly-owned subsidiary, Aozora Trust Bank Limited, and GMO Internet will also consider investing in Aozora Trust Bank Limited.
The two companies will hold discussions to determine the schedule for launching the new business.
