A little more about the former Miss America Pageant winner that many may not be aware of. To secure scholarships for Furman, Erika entered the Miss South Carolina pageant and was crowned Miss South Carolina 2005. She advanced to the Miss America Pageant, where she won the Bernie Wayne overall talent award and placed in the Top–10 securing over 40K dollars in college scholarships in a mere 11 months. Erika put on the stilettos once again seven years later and was crowned Miss South Carolina USA 2012 and was thrilled to place in the Top–15 at The Miss USA Pageant. Erika is one of only two women in the state of South Carolina to have successfully “crossed over” and won both the Miss America and the Miss Universe state titles in her lifetime.
Erika moved to Nashville, TN in December of 2013 with a job offer from Cumulus Media as Entertainment Correspondent for the nationally syndicated radio program, America’s Morning Show #NashFM. Hosted by Blair Garner, Terri Clark, Chuck Wicks, & HLN News with Robin Meade.
