Golden Mile Alliance and community will host Mixer on the Mile anniversary celebration at Warehouse Cinemas on November 2, 2022.
FREDERICK, Md., Oct. 19, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Golden Mile Alliance will celebrate its tenth anniversary as a non-profit serving the businesses, residents and property owners of the Golden Mile area of the City of Frederick. The celebratory "Mixer on the Mile" will take place on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Warehouse Cinemas, located at 1301 W. Patrick Street, Frederick, MD
The special anniversary networking event, called the "Mixer on the Mile," will feature local food, music and fun for attendees. The $10.00 admission fee allows participants to sample food from various restaurants and caterers on the Golden Mile. There will be a cash bar (including 50% off the self-serve beer wall at Warehouse Cinemas), and music from DJ Shantay DeMar from Golden Mile business, At Virtual Reality! The event includes raffles for items donated from the community which will help raise funds for the important work of the non-profit!
Frederick's Golden Mile remains one of the most important retail corridors in the city with several million square feet of commercial shopping centers along with terrific single-family, townhouse, and multi-family neighborhoods. The corridor is a state designated Enterprise Zone and the City has invested heavily in the quality of life in terms of pedestrian connections, crosswalks, parks, and trails. "New businesses are opening every week along the Mile, and shops are bustling. We support and appreciate the efforts of the Golden Mile Alliance and others who are investing in Frederick's future along this segment of Route 40 – National Road," stated Richard Griffin, Director, Department of Economic Development for The City of Frederick, which helped to establish the organization ten years ago.
Golden Mile Alliance President Sandra Wastler offered that this event will truly be a community celebration. The event will also include a presentation highlighting the Alliance's accomplishments over the past ten years. "We also want to give a glimpse into the future as to what GMA hopes to accomplish in its next ten years," shared Ms. Wastler.
