As the Corona virus pandemic news grips the nation on a daily basis, families are turning to home-based activities to combat cabin fever. One company believes a cure to this is bringing families together to play a game that promotes instant laughter, creativity and communication.

Golden Elixir Enterprises, a North Carolina-family owned company that produces board games, is dropping the price of its newly released House Guests From Hell from $59.95 to $29.95 for the next 60 days.

“Seeing what’s been happening with small businesses all over the country, I wanted to help families take their minds away from the depressing and volatile news---even if it’s for an hour or two,” said Shelly Pritchett, owner of Golden Elixir Enterprises and one of the game’s creators. “As a small business owner, I also want to do my part to help the American economy.”

House Guests From Hell gives a perfect opportunity for adults to use their creativity and humor to solve a very sticky and personal situation: how to deal with badly behaving house guests. Every player learns how to become a better communicator while at the same time the game always brings on extreme laughter!

The game lets each player become a hospitable host left to entertain bad house guests. The first player to get rid of his or her house guests becomes the winner. To do this, each player draws a Dilemma card and two Solution cards. The Dilemmas must be solved using the Solution cards that they players have drawn. If they cannot solve their problems with the cards, they must wait until they draw a solution card that works. Then the other players vote on the proposed solution.

Pritchett said the idea came from her family’s situations tending to such temporary visitors who brought disruption and chaos to her home. What she wants people to take away is that this game pushes players to go out of the box with their creative thinking and problem solving skills.

“House Guests From Hell has endless possibilities of fun with the screwball explanations that people come up with to solve their various difficulties,” she said. “This game will not only keep people laughing but it also promotes teamwork and personal connections.”

House Guests From Hell is recommended for ages 12 and up and is for two to six players. For more information about purchasing the game, visit https://houseguestsfromhell.com/.
