Goldman Sachs to Host Patriot Boot Camp, Presented by Techstars
Boulder, Colorado (PRWEB) March 03, 2015 -- Patriot Boot Camp, presented by Techstars (PBC) is excited to partner with Goldman Sachs for its spring 2015 event. The program will be held at Goldman Sachs’s New York City headquarters (200 West St., New York, NY 10282) from April 17-19, 2015. The application period to Patriot Boot Camp is now open. We encourage all interested candidates to apply at http://www.patriotbootcamp.org/pbc-application-new-york-city-april-2015/.
Patriot Boot Camp is an intensive three-day event designed to engage, inspire, and mentor Veterans and their spouses to start, innovate, and scale technology-focused businesses. It is modeled after the three-month Techstars accelerator and provided to Veterans, active service members, and/or their spouses at no cost. Over the course of the event, PBC provides between 50 and 75 handpicked participants with entrepreneurial education, mentoring, and networking to help them solidify a business idea, focus their fundraising pitch, and demonstrate progress along their entrepreneurial path.
“PBC gave us an awesome education and connections as we launched our startup and got started building our product,” said Greg Adams, a 2014 PBC alumni, US Army Veteran, and founder of Stabilitas. “The PBC experience has been phenomenal for us - we’re incredibly thankful!” Since completing the program in New York City last year, Stabilitas found its Chief Technology Officer through the PBC network, has raised private capital, and was accepted into the Techstars Cloud accelerator.
Patriot Boot Camp is made possible by the generous support of many organizations that are committed to seeing Veterans succeed as entrepreneurs, founders, and employees. The Jared Polis Foundation leads this support as the headline sponsor for 2015. Additional sponsors include SoftLayer, Galvanize, and the Goldman Sachs Technology Division, in partnership with the Goldman Sachs Veterans Network, who is hosting and donating facilities for the event.
The mission of Patriot Boot Camp is to provide Veterans and their spouses with the support and resources they need to be successful technology entrepreneurs. The first Patriot Boot Camp event was held in 2012 at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Subsequent events were held in 2013 at the George Washington University School of Business, and in 2014 at Goldman Sachs in New York City and the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery in Madison, Wisconsin. “It’s an honor to work with such talented and motivated entrepreneurs,” said Charlotte Creech, PBC Director and alumna of the 2012 and 2013 cohorts. “Our alumni continue to impress us with their achievements and validate the need to bring PBC to more Veterans and military spouses in more communities across the country.”
