BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Golf Academy of America announced today that it will host an orientation for new students on Tuesday, August 28. This orientation will take place across all five of the school's campuses in Dallas, Myrtle Beach, Orlando, Phoenix and San Diego.
At each location, Golf Academy of America staff will welcome dozens of new students to campus. Every full-time student beginning their first semester is expected to attend new student orientation, where they will learn about the school's academic policies, meet the staff and become acquainted with some of the equipment. The orientation is specific to the students enrolled in Golf Academy of America's 16-month associate degree program on campus; those taking their first semester online will have a separate orientation.
New student orientation will begin between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., when students will check in, pick up their student identification cards and receive their textbooks. All students will then have the opportunity to meet Golf Academy of America's faculty and staff, and the academic dean will review expected behaviors and grading policies.
New students will also hear from their campus president, who will warmly welcome them to Golf Academy of America. Students will learn how to sign up for golf lessons, get introduced to the academic portal and get their first look at the school's advanced golf technology.
The schedule will also include a campus tour, during which the new students will see the technology center, club repair lab, library and more.
Following the academic orientation, lunch will be provided for all students. In the afternoon, students will have an opportunity to remain on campus a little longer and receive an initial swing analysis, talk to the school's PGA professionals, meet student mentors and learn more about the upcoming semester.
"Our new student orientation provides an excellent opportunity for our incoming students to meet their classmates, get to know Golf Academy of America's instructors and staff, and familiarize themselves with our school policies," said Golf Academy of America at Myrtle Beach Campus President Gene Augustine. "It's always an exciting day, because our students are eager to start learning about the golf industry, and we're excited to have them all on campus."
Classes on each campus will begin the following day, on August 29.
