US Sports Camps and Nike Golf Camps Unveil Short Game Schools Nationwide in 2016
San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) February 17, 2016 -- US Sports Camps' Nike Short Game Schools offer specific instruction designed to lower players’ scores with training and course play from within 125 yards. In addition to honing skills in putting, chipping, pitching, and sand play, participants also learn strategy and application via on-course training.
“There has been a strong demand from our Nike Camp parents and juniors to organize specialized programs like these,” states Vice President of Nike Golf Camps, Nicholas Brunner. “Our short game schools utilize the game’s most respected coaches and professionals who are passionate about junior instruction while boasting impressive backgrounds in short game and putting techniques.”
Along with skill development and situational course play, juniors engage in discussions on green reading, pre-shot routine, distance and trajectory control, mental fundamentals of scoring and more. Host sites for 2016 include Pebble Beach, CA, Duke University, Williams College, Lake Geneva, WI, and Fort Worth, TX. While several of the locations, such as Duke and Williams, offer comprehensive overnight experiences, others provide one-day, supplemental schools to complement their weeklong resident camps. Each director has created a curriculum to give players the means necessary to improve and succeed in the future.
"For the developing player, building a staunch short game is one of the quickest ways to lower scores,” states National Director of Instruction for Nike Golf Camps, Jeff Ritter. “From 125 yards and in, these shot-specific programs give young athletes the tools to raise the bar and compete through high school, college and beyond. We are excited to bring these to other regions across the country after such success last summer at our Pebble Beach location.”
Other Nike Short Game School Coaches include:
Jon Whithaus – Duke University Assistant Women’s Coach
Marius Filmalter – PGA Tour Putting Coach
Dr. Robert Winters – David Leadbetter Academy Mental Conditioning Coach
Chad Phillips – Performance Coach, GLT Golf Academy
The schools are geared towards intermediate to advanced golfers, ages 12 – 18 (varies by location). For more information on these programs visit Nike Short Game Schools or call 1-800-NIKE-CAMP.
