Funds will be deployed for long-term recovery support in the Carolinas

“Good360 can amplify a cash gift by a minimum factor of 10, meaning that for every dollar donated, we can distribute at least $10 in critically needed goods," said Howard Sherman, CEO of Good360. "This grant will allow us to distribute at least $1 million in goods to those impacted by Florence.”

Good360, the global leader in product philanthropy and purposeful giving, is pleased to announce a charitable contribution in the amount of $100,000 from partner American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) to help with long-term support and recovery in communities impacted by Hurricane Florence. This commitment follows the company’s collaboration with Good360 to support survivors of both the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season as well as California’s devastating wildfires in both 2017 and 2018.

AEO has also recently pledged its support to the Resilient Response initiative (https://www.resilientresponse.org), a coalition of nonprofits and corporations pledging to commit to a necessary shift in disaster giving and long-term relief initiatives to better support impacted communities after natural disasters.

“Support from partners like American Eagle Outfitters is critical during times of disaster,” said Howard Sherman, CEO of Good360. “Good360 can amplify a cash gift by a minimum factor of 10, meaning that for every dollar donated, we can distribute at least $10 in critically needed goods. This grant will allow us to distribute at least $1 million in goods to those impacted by Florence.”

“As part of our responsibility to be good corporate citizens, American Eagle Outfitters is proud to partner with Good360 on long-term disaster recovery initiatives,” said Marcie Eberhart, Senior Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and the AEO Foundation. “AEO is committed to making a lasting impact in the communities where our associates and our customers call home.”

Studies show that 70% of giving happens within the first two months of a disaster, often leaving the hard work of long-term rebuilding abandoned and resource-starved. The needs of a disaster-impacted community evolve over time, so sustained and strategic giving and planning is needed to drive recovery and build resiliency.
