Digital agency navigated through a remarkable year, fostering a Culture of Caring for its workforce that prioritizes compassion, learning, and results

Goodway Group, the digital partner advertisers trust to deliver campaign performance and media efficiency, has ranked third on Ad Age’s 2021 Best Places to Work list, an annual ranking of companies that lead the pack in benefits, culture and other key factors.

Ad Age recognized Goodway Group for its unique remote workforce model and history of putting its employees first. The agency pioneered remote work, having supported a fully remote model for over 13 years. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Goodway Group found that it had to make further changes to provide team members with even greater flexibility, as well as additional growth and development opportunities to maintain performance and enable employees to work toward achieving their professional and personal goals.

Through a Culture of Caring - which prioritizes compassion, learning, and results - Goodway Group launched key initiatives including Community Resource Groups to provide a safe space for employees to connect and express themselves, ongoing leadership education programs, a well-being program, and additional work/life integration with company-led virtual childcare, tutoring, activities for children, and flexible work hours. Goodway also expanded its support structures during the pandemic and set up a voluntary, employee-funded financial assistance program, which included financial support from its senior leadership team. Through its RISE initiative, the company emphasizes respect, inclusion, support, and equality.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from Ad Age. As a family business, we want every person at Goodway to feel like they are part of the family,” said Kandi Gongora, VP of people and organizational development at Goodway Group. “Since we are remote, connections are really important, and we saw this even more so during 2020. We strive to support our team members, enabling everyone at the agency to perform at their best while creating, fostering, and preserving a work environment where everyone feels welcomed and heard.”

Goodway is ranked third among top companies with more than 200 employees, based on an analysis of questionnaires submitted by employers and survey responses from employees. Ad Age’s scoring system factors in the importance of six key satisfaction areas: company culture, company environment, employee benefits, employee development, employee engagement, and employee perks.

“From the challenges of the pandemic and a recession to the opportunities to stand up for social justice, diversity, and inclusion, 2020 was a remarkable year for the advertising industry,” said Dan Peres, editor-in-chief at Ad Age. “Amid all of this, the Ad Age Best Places to Work winners went above and beyond in supporting their employees and communities.”

Ad Age produced Best Places to Work in partnership with Latitude Research, a market research firm. The program competition was open to companies whose primary business is marketing, media, advertising, or ad tech. Marketers’ in-house agencies also could participate.
