However, building and subsequently updating and maintaining accurate organizational charts is an error-prone, manual, time-consuming and expensive process that is difficult to accomplish accurately.
FedChart is a web-based tool that automates the development of organizational charts and provides the foundation for effective workforce planning and position management. The automation of organizational chart development and maintenance reduces HR's workload, especially for larger agencies where manually creating charts is less feasible and more cumbersome. In addition, FedChart includes a data clean-up module that enables HR to work in parallel with approved agency users to identify any organization or position-level inaccuracies and provides a sustainable long-term capability to track issues, recommend changes, obtain the appropriate approvals.
FedChart replaces manual, error-prone tools such as PowerPoint and Visio that agencies typically use for organizational chart development and maintenance. Organizational chart updating that typically takes days or weeks is reduced to an hour or less.
