"Servicemembers, first responders, and law enforcement pros continue to go above and beyond to keep our country and communities safe, which is why backing these nonprofits is more important than ever." - Alan Cole, GovX CEO

The charitable efforts of GovX—the online shopping site exclusively for current and former military, first responders, and federal employees—closed out 2020 by reaching over half a million dollars in total GovX Gives Back donations. Since the inception of GovX's inaugural charitable giveback efforts in October of 2015, GovX has now raised a lifetime total of $565,000 for nonprofits supporting Americans with service-related backgrounds and their families.
The bulk of GovX Gives Back fundraising was generated by sales of the Patch of the Month, originally designed collectible patches based on the unique cultures among military, law enforcement, and first responder communities. Examples include the American of Service patch, which benefited Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, and the special 9/11 anniversary United We Stand patch, which supported FirefighterAid, the long-time GovX partner and nonprofit dedicated to fire professionals nationwide.
The complete list of nonprofits the GovX community supported in 2020 is:
- Navy SEAL Foundation
- Angels of America's Fallen
- Workshops for Warriors
- IAVA – Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America
- NLEOMF - National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund
- Team Red White & Blue
- Active Valor
- Team Rubicon
- The Honor Foundation
- Our Military Kids
GovX was also proud to provide additional support to local foundations in the company's hometown of San Diego. GovX donated to Veterans Village of San Diego to aid in their mission to overcome veteran homelessness, The Rosie Network which empowers veteran small business ventures, and the San Diego Police Department Academy's mission to train tomorrow's law enforcement pros.
"In a year as tough as 2020, it was vital to maintain our steadfast support for the organizations that care for the GovX community," said Alan Cole, GovX CEO. "Servicemembers, first responders, and law enforcement pros continue to go above and beyond to keep our country and communities safe, which is why backing these nonprofits is more important than ever. I want to thank each member who participated in GovX Gives Back last year by buying the Patch of the Month to help support these causes."
GovX aims to exceed their 2020 charitable donations in the new year. Sales of 2021's first Patch of the Month are already underway. The American Explorer patch benefits the mission of Green Beret Foundation, the nonprofit dedicated to soldiers of the US Army's special forces branch and their families.
