FORT DODGE, Iowa, Nov. 17, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance has released the last video in its 10-video series that not only celebrates the community's diversity, opportunity, and business development but illustrates how partnering has strengthened the entire region. These businesses and many others in the region are looking to expand and are actively promoting employment options. The Growth Alliance is committed to promoting the region as a great place to do business, and these videos are an excellent way to show off all that this community has to offer.
The last video is about a non-profit providing service in the Fort Dodge area but also has locations across Iowa. One Vision started in the 1970s as Opportunity Village and is a human services organization that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They later changed their name to reflect that their mission is "One Vision" for the clients that they serve.
Kelly Hinds is interviewed on the video and states that belonging to the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance has provided them the ability to work with other businesses in the community while learning more about them. This in turn assists them with working with the businesses to provide employment opportunities to their clients. These businesses provide their clients with learning the hard skill of the various jobs they perform while One Vision works with their clients on the soft skills needed for adapting to the community.
"This is a small community with a large heart." is how Kelly describes her experience since moving here from a community of only 1,500. It has also allowed her to grow. "One Vision discovered something in me that I had not discovered myself and enrolled me in the Leadership program."
Jill Nelson, Community Development Director at the GFDGA talks about Kelly and how she went from the Leadership program to now being on the Steering Community for this program. "I have personally gotten to know her really well over the last 5 to 8 years working with that project with her. She is a great role model and a great leader in the community."
The video campaign continues to grow with not only more views of the videos, press releases, and podcasts but sharing the story of the community. Lydia Schuur, Communication Specialist with the GFDGA tells us, "I love that about these videos. They really are like a love story about Fort Dodge."
The GFDGA encourages everyone to watch the video, along with the others in the series to learn more about the businesses, community, and opportunities that are in the region. The videos can also be freely shared on social media and websites as a resource for job recruitment and business development in the region. You can continue to also hear about these videos on the Spin It Podcast sponsored by Spin Markket + Digital which is released in conjunction with the videos.
