Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP served as gaming regulatory counsel to dMY Technology Group, Inc. (dMY), a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), as they entered into a business combination agreement with Rush Street Interactive, LP, an igaming and sports betting company.

(dMY), a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), as they entered into a business combination agreement with Rush Street Interactive, LP, an igaming and sports betting company. The new business combination will trade as RSI on the New York Stock Exchange.

“Our team is proud to have served as counsel to dMY and successfully assisted the principals in navigating the regulatory process,” said Chicago Shareholder Edward Winkofsky, who led Greenberg Traurig’s gaming team along with Las Vegas Associate Erica Okerberg. The team also included Chicago Associate Kieron Frazier. The transaction impacted several gaming jurisdictions and continued the industry’s utilization of the SPAC as an efficient vehicle to encourage investment in gaming related markets.
