Greenberg Traurig's Audrey Chang to Receive APIS Champion of Diversity Award
HOUSTON (PRWEB) March 20, 2019 -- The Asian Pacific Interest Section (APIS) of the State Bar of Texas has selected Audrey Chang, of counsel in the Houston office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, to receive its Champion of Diversity Award.
The award recognizes an individual whose actions and activities within the legal profession facilitate diversity in the hiring, retention, and promotion of attorneys, as well as in the elevation of attorneys to leadership positions within their organizations.
Chang is active in Houston’s Asian/Asian-American legal community. In 2011, she served as president for the Asian American Bar Association (AABA) of Houston and has twice served as chair of its board of directors. She additionally sits on the Board of Trustees for the Asian American Bar Foundation of Houston and represents the AABA on the Coalition of Houston Diverse Bar Associations. In addition to her work locally, Ms. Chang has served as Vice-Chair for the State Bar of Texas’ Asian Pacific Islander Interest Section and is a member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). She was selected by NAPABA to participate in the ABA Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy’s Class of 2014.
Within the wider community, Chang is a member (and former chair) of the Houston Symphony’s Asian Leadership Council and serves on the Executive Committee of the Chinese Community Center. She is also a member of Leadership Houston’s Class XXXIII and a 2016 Fellow for the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation.
“Greenberg Traurig remains committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace that provides its lawyers opportunities to advance and succeed. We applaud APIS for also recognizing Audrey’s efforts and dedication to diversity issues and congratulate her on this great honor,” said Greenberg Traurig’s Houston Co-Managing Shareholders Shari L.
